how To Fall Seminar

Everyone falls at some point in their life.  This class shows the right way to fall to avoid being injured. According to the World Health Organization Falls are the leading cause of injury and injury related death among Americans 65 and older.

Bart Axelrod worked as a paramedic in  several cities and towns around Boston and discovered that falls are one of the most common sources of emergency responses and injuries. Although falls can cause injury at any age, falls affect the elderly population most seriously. For the elderly especially, falls can result in debilitating injury that changes lives by causing pain, reducing mobility and even causing death due to internal bleeding or as a result of side effects of surgery.

Bart said “An elderly woman fell and broke her hip and had a stroke during surgery.  Also, an 88 year old great grandfather fell and hit his head on a wall, and since he was taking blood thinners at the time for an irregular heartbeat, the fall caused him to have a stroke. I have seen many elderly people in my life and career with very negative outcomes due to falls, which is why I want to promote this training.”
